Part Time Veterinarian DMV

Healthy Pets of Houk Road

803 N Houk Rd. Delaware, OH 43015

Experienced Part-Time Veterinarian Needed

Healthy Pets of Houk Road | Delaware, Ohio

Healthy Pets of Houk Road is looking for an experienced, compassionate veterinarian to join our close-knit team on a part-time basis. We are privately and locally owned, proudly independent, and part of a small, like-minded eight-hospital group in central Ohio that values autonomy, trust, and long-term relationships.

If you are an established veterinarian who loves quality medicine, respectful clients, and a genuinely supportive workplace, you will feel right at home here. Recent graduates will also be considered.

We are hiring a part-time veterinarian to work 2-3 days during the week and 2 Saturdays a month. Opportunities may be available to work at additional locations within our group if full-time work is desired.

Our Philosophy

We believe:

There is more than one right way to practice good medicine

Work-life balance is not a buzzword; it is essential

Doctors should be trusted to practice medicine and surgery the way they see fit

A calm, low-stress environment is better for patients and people

No drama, no competition — just teamwork and mutual respect

We support happy visits, gentle handling, and always doing what is best for the patient. We do not tolerate abusive client behavior and prioritize the wellbeing of our team.

About the Practice:

Healthy Pets of Houk Road is a full-service small animal general practice, primarily seeing dogs and cats, with the option to expand into other interests if desired. One doctor sees pocket pets and another doctor will be starting Large Animal in the summer of 2026. You are NEVER expected to see Large Animals or Pocket Pets/Exotics if that is not your thing. But if it is – Great!

Do not let the size of our small building fool you; we truly believe what is on the inside counts.

Open Monday and Tuesday 8a-5p, Wednesday 9a-6p, Thursday and Friday 9a–5p, Saturday’s 9a–1p

Closed Sundays, no on-call, no boarding or grooming

We are equipped with:

Digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, and Ultrasound – with a Board-Certified Radiologist available for in-house cases

In-house lab (Idexx blood & urine analyzers; Bionote)

Fully equipped surgical suite with multiple anesthetic machines and advanced anesthetic monitoring

Phovia

This position is ideal for a veterinarian who:

Has several years of clinical experience; recent graduates will be considered

Enjoys building long-term client relationships

Values collaboration and clear communication

Appreciates a calm, supportive work environment

Wants flexibility without sacrificing quality of care

Opportunities may be available to work at additional locations within our group if full-time work is desired.

While this role is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who enjoys practicing independently, you will never feel alone. Our hospitals are closely connected, and collaboration, mentorship, and shared knowledge are always available if you want them.

We place a strong emphasis on continuing education, growing confidence, and supporting doctors’ interests. If there is a better way to do something or something new you would like to learn, we are open to it.

Compensation & Benefits:

We offer excellent, flexible compensation, based on experience and preference, including:

Salary, hourly, or Pro-Sal options (no negative accrual)

Medical benefits and 401(k): if full-time (30 hours+/week)

Generous continuing education allowance

Employee pet care discounts

Flexible, family-friendly scheduling

About the Area:

Delaware County is one of the fastest-growing and most desirable communities in Ohio, offering beautiful parks, great restaurants, strong schools, and an easy commute just north of Columbus.

If you are looking for a practice that truly values work-life balance, respectful clients, supportive leadership, and quality medicine, we would love to meet you.
