Dr. Shelly Long grew up in Parma, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. She always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. As a child, she always enjoyed spending time and caring for her pets. She also gained experience during high school while working at a pet store and then a vet clinic. After completing 3 years of undergrad at The Ohio State University, she applied and was accepted to their veterinary program. After graduating from vet school in 1998, Shelly moved to Clearwater, Florida, where she practiced medicine for three years. After enjoying the fun and sun in Florida, she and her husband, Brian, relocated to Columbus and joined the Healthy Pet's team. She currently enjoys working full time with the staff and clients of the Grove City office. Shelly is also the treasurer of the Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine, the local veterinary association. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, Ashley. She also likes to scuba dive, swim, travel and do crafty things.
